El Programa Hispano Católico (EPHC) is seeking a Part-Time Extended Day Coordinator at Clear Creek Middle School to work under the general supervision and support of the Site Manager, this position is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Extended Day program at their assigned school. SUN is a partnership between Multnomah County, the School District, and El Programa Hispano Católico. This position will support the SUN Site Manager in developing school-based programs addressing academics, enrichment, and recreation; develop and maintain strong and positive relationships with school staff; and connect families to resources and services that address and assist in their universal household needs.

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Experience working with students and families of diverse backgrounds
  • Experience working with a broad range of issues affecting Latinx community - especially issues related to youth and families.
  • Ability to successfully connect with and motivate parents and caregivers.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing in Spanish and English.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with data entry required.
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities with high attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which could include some evenings or weekends.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Must have driver's license, ability to obtain automobile insurance at levels required by agency (100/300/100). Frequent driving in the Tri-County area required.
  • Satisfactory results from civil, criminal, and motor vehicle background check required.

Essential Duties:

  • Collaborate with key partners to design, implement, and supervise the SUN Community School Extended Day and Summer programming, including fieldtrips that meet program objectives and outcomes.
  • Support Extended Day programming with administrative operations such as registration cycles, drafting documents, creating attendance tracking sheets, developing flyers, and assisting with other clerical tasks as assigned.
  • Support school and SUN events such as Back to School Night, SUN Showcase evenings, and Parent-Teacher Conferences to connect families with EPHC and SUN Services.
  • Organize and lead intake protocol for participant tracking in the county-wide data entry system (ServicePoint).
  • Develop and maintain relationships within EPHC, staff, parents, community partners and social service providers.
  • Support family engagement strategies in order to gain trust and build relationships with families.
  • Provide information and referral assistance regarding community resources and services (e.g., legal, social, mental health, domestic violence, employment, and education)
  • Help families obtain food, rent, utilities, public benefits, school-based resources, and/or employment services

COMPENSATION: $16.00-$17.00 an hour.

By nature of our service to k-12 school districts, this position is subject to the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) mandate requiring all employees to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or qualification for a medical or religious exemption.
